There are few of us that can say we have forgotten those who have slighted us. When we feel wronged how do we handle it? The feeling of hurt can come from a stranger, a family member, a best friend, a spouse, a business or even from life itself.
I’ve been there for a long time, and getting past it is hard. Funny how we convince ourselves we are past things but usually we haven’t completely, albeit we do push it down, we try not to think about it, but the veneer we place over our hurt is thin, and it is fragile ready to break to the surface. I remember a fight I had once with a friend, I didn’t remember the reason why but I still held onto the hurt. How dumb am I?
Buddha quote –
Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.
Love yourself and let the hot coal go is a goal for all of us as we live our lives.
Good quote and very true Dave 🙂
