I washed my car yesterday, this morning it is raining. That’s perfect with me as that is part of spring – April Showers bring May Flowers (and April is almost here).
A few of my blogger colleagues are doing multi day challenges, I am going to do a five day challenge, not a challenge for them, but it is for me.
Each day I will be brief, so I hope you will still come and see me for five days in a row.
Today is Birinci gün – Day One.

Sage brush and looking down on Okanagan lake
Word of the Day – Piquant
Meanings
- Sharp taste – Synonyms would be: spicy, tasty, flavorsome
- Pleasantly stimulating – Synonyms would be: intriguing, stimulating, interesting, fascinating
Piquant in a sentence from ” A Study in Scarlet” – Arthur Conan Doyle
“By the way,” I asked suddenly, stopping and turning upon Stamford, “how the deuce did he know that I had come from Afghanistan?”
My companion smiled an enigmatical smile, “That’s just his little peculiarity,”he said. ” A good many people have wanted to know how he finds things out.”
“Oh! a mystery is it?” I cried, rubbing my hands. “This is very piquant. I am much obliged to you for bringing us together.
(I am confident you know whom John Watson is referring to)

Quote of the Day –
All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope. – Winston Churchill
***********************************************************************
A Song – I’ll Think of You
I’ll think of you
As I go
So when I leave
You’re not alone
And no matter where we are
We will never be that far
Cause I’ll think of you as i go
I’ll think of you
As I dream
So when it’s dark
You’ll be with me
And no matter where we are
We can look up to the stars
And I’ll think of you as I dream
Oh, it’s a long and winding road
But you don’t have to walk alone
Cause no matter where we are
I’ll keep you in my heart
And I’ll think of you as i go….
Look at the big blue eye staring down at Kelowna! How cool is that!

Hi. I read A Study In Scarlet a year or two ago. Liked it a lot. It has a lot of depth. It was much better than I thought it would be.

I agree it is a wonderful beginning to the Sherlock Holmes series. Sherlock Holmes is one of those characters like 007 that sparked movies, prequels and related series. I appreciate your response as always.

I agree, a blue eye focused on Peachland or Kelowna. 🙂

You probably know approximately the spot I took the picture from, on the trail below Munson Mountain. Happy Monday.

‘All the great things are simple’. Perhaps that was never more poignant than during this time when so many simple activities one took for granted are no longer possible. A very thought provoking post.

I think Sue you will agree that many of the things we thought were necessities, we don’t see them that way any longer.

Thank you, my city is one of two in the world that borders on two lakes. Skaha lake close to where I live is a casual 15 minute walk, at the north end about 7 kilometres away is Okanagan lake. My city is Penticton, a native word that means gathering place or place to live forever.

OMG wow, Penticton, the meaning, that’s amazing. That’s like paradise. And being one of two in the world, wow. I love the name of the city, and the meaning. What language is it? The name and meaning makes it sound so beautiful and magical to me. Wow😍

Wow, just googled and it says it’s in Canada. Didn’t know Canada had indigenous groups or languages other than English and French, which I realize now is silly lol, there are lots of groups with different languages in almost every country. This is really nice.

I read your five-day challenge backwards. Nice job! I love the Winston Churchill quote. I may have to borrow it.
I don’t know what possessed me to take on a 26-day challenge. Even the short and simple posts take a pretty minute.
