In the last few days I have been walking along both the north end (Okanagan Lake side) and the south end (Skaha Lake side) of Penticton.
When I walk I inevitably stop and take pictures, I don’t listen to music, and so I am concentrating on my own thoughts and the scenery around me. The scenery is often seagulls and other strollers at Okanagan lake. The last few days it has looked very nice and so I had to snap a few.
Today at Skaha Lake it included some people picnicking in the 14 degree C heat! It was really looking good, and the lake still looks tempting for a dip. There was also a senior on a slack line (I hope that’s correct, it looked like about 7 cm wide) and he was bouncing off and just jumping back on and walking again on the line. He was super fit !
I guess I wasn’t so tongue-tied after all. I hope you enjoy this post.

This time of year the scenery is truly awesome, as your photos show. In my neck of the woods, the leaves have mostly been gone for a couple of weeks or more, but the Tamarack are in full dress mode, so the forests are still interspersed with gold towers. Nature sure knows how to put on a show, regardless of location.

I agree, it’s nature’s show! The leaves are blowing here now, and my burning bush went from green to bright red leaves, but now those are gone. It’s cool when you see those bursts of interspersed with the evergreen 😁

I’m glad you liked them. Today was another glorious sunny day and I took pictures again but I didn’t feel right about two posts in a row so similar. Still a lovely day today though. I heard from my daughter that Vancouver was beautiful today, and I know walking in Stanley park, queen Elizabeth park or on the dike in Richmond it is beautiful on a sunny day

I know! I was so impressed because i wouldn’t even try. I used to think about a unicycle though but that seems easier.

The answer is yes, those pictures are of Skaha Lake and Okanagan Lake. My city is in between both off these lakes. Skaha lake is at the south end and it is smaller about 11 km long and we swim in it all summer, and skate on it some winters. Okanagan lake is at the north end of my city and it larger, about 135 km long and much deeper. I swam in it in the summer and my last swim was September 24. This valley I live in is a chain of lakes from top to bottom and they are all fed by thousands of streams from melting snow in spring and rain also.

The photo’s were lovely, you are working hard to create a nice, newsy post, thank you for the effort you put into an entertaining post; I threw my T.V. set in the trash can 35 years ago, and gained at least ten extra years of thinking for myself….I just lost the Love of my life, a Great Lady and the best friend a man could ever ask for….So Mourning that loss; sitting here alone in my old log house, first snowfall, 8 + inches hauled in wood for the fire, rebuilt my 50 year old Rite-Way stove, the welders made all of the parts, and then told me NO CHARGE, for this work, a gift of at least $500.00 They said to me:”Just pass it on, old man” And so I did I just gifted away $30,000.00 How is that for passing it on?

I think that is really nice of you. I am happy to say that there are many kind people out there. Many like yourself, having gained wisdom and perspective through long lives are happy to give to others and make their lives much improved. It is especially wonderful that you get to see how your gift makes a difference while you are alive. God loves a cheerful giver, and it sounds like you fit the bill.
