Mother Nature has been moody
in my little city the last few days. We have had wind, and cloud, sun and rain, we have had even hail and snow (it didn’t last long).
I was out riding my bike when it started snowing
so hard I had to stop and put on glasses as I couldn’t see with the flakes going into my eyes.
I took a two-day hiatus from posting and today my post will be some photos from the weekend. I hope you enjoy them, and the captions when you click. – David

Thanks MM ♥, I have managed to ride all winter with my son except the days when it was icy or slippery with snow. We dress warm with layers but sometimes it takes a while for my legs to warm up when I get home.

Looking back on pictures from past years at this time, we are close to a month behind weatherwise. At least no worries this year about flooding, no rain and no hot weather for quick melts. I hope you are doing well up north.

Your weather sounds a bit like mine! The photos are so nice. I miss my home province. I’ve given up on waiting for Spring. I just bundle up and seek out the sun 🙂 *shakes fist at sky. You wont beat me! lol

Great photos David! My husband & I have managed to get our riding as well. Yesterday the wind was crazy strong which definitely tested our ability🥴.

Hi Lynn, it’s so nice to get out. I am fortunate that my adult son loves bike riding with me even in the cold temperatures. Plus in addition to my other bikes I have two ebikes and the wind doesn’t bother me. I hope you have some trails, I’d love to see photos.

We primarily ride road bikes although recently I purchased more of a hybrid to ride to work. Hope to write a little post about being able to get out & ride in the next week. Stay tuned!

I love the photos. We are having very warm weather her it was 80 degrees today. The dogwoods and the redbuds are blooming however the redbuds are beginning to fade. We hardly had any winter this past year. I like a little cold weather.

Where are you? Here in North Carolina the redbuds are out but my dogwood is just getting started. I guess this might have to do with light conditions or something, but I’m no arborist.

I live in the British Columbia Okanagan valley, a small city, Penticton (which means A Place to Live Forever). My city is nestled between two separate lakes, Skaha and Okanagan lakes and about 8 kilometres from nose to tail. LOL This is fruit and wine country, a few hundred wineries string the valley following the lakes south to north.

I am in East Tennessee about 70 miles from the Georgia line so probably a little more south than you. Our Redbuds are fading fast now but in the last few days the dogwoods have really popped out. They’re beautiful

I’m just north of Asheville,,, maybe an hour from Bristol. I kind of think my yard is just a little weird because so much of my stuff comes up late.

Never heard of Asheville, I looked it up. Blue Ridge mountains – didn’t John Denver call it “almost heaven” – no that was West Virginia but North Carolina looks nice also. I am going to have start saving if I want to see all these nice places.

That’s the place. John Denver did mention the Blue Ridge. My family is largely from West Virginia. Asheville is a great place to live and to visit. Let me know when you’re coming so I can barricade the doors.

I love that whole place. Cathy and I went to Salmon Arm a few years back and stayed in a house on Shuswap lake. I never had so much fun doing so little and I’m absolutely dying to go back. I’ll be sure to let you know when we do so you can barricade the doors and windows.

ha ha, that’s funny. My son and daughter went to Eagle Bay camp when they were young, that’s on the Shuswap. Big lake! So cool that you have those memories! I am just farther down the valley. The valley is a different temperate zone every hour, I get 1/3 the snow or less than Kelowna and am on the edge of the desert with sage brush. I even picked up a tarantula in my shed one year.

we don’t get mosquitos, you should see them in eastern Canada! I was visiting near Ottawa one year and they were monsters and in swarms. No thanks! Maybe the best vacations are stay-at-home and you are a tourist in your own town.

We have had moody weather also and the same as you except for snow. Enjoyed the pictures – they are inspiring me to either get my bike fixed, or get a new one.

No curfew ever. No lockdowns either. In Canada we are requested to stay home as much as possible and when we are out to practice social distancing of two metres from anyone not from our household.

Mother Nature’s moodiness has been rather mild considering all the crazy energy racing across the planet. I think She is being rather kind. 🙂 70+ degrees in Denver Colorado today, but expecting snow on Sunday.

Almost the same today here, 18 Celcius. Snow still in the forecast? I guess it could happen here in the mountains but hope not. We did have a snow storm of 5 minutes or so a few days ago, but happily it was just Mother Nature’s being a bit cranky, it didn’t last. Thanks Lorrie.

Most of the time there is a light wind but when it is from the north you go to the opposite end for calm water (and vice versa). The bonus of two lakes at either side of city.
