Positive energy

What is positive energy? I know what isn’t. Complaining, talking negative. That is not to say that criticism is bad. I think criticism is required. How could I or anyone improve if we were unaware of areas we could improve? How could a target be reached if you could not share changes a person needs to make so they can be successful?

No criticism is unrealistic. But we hate that word, and it seems to us to be so negative. I hope that in the future I can not be a complainer, that is just unhealthy. Let me be someone who is welcomed when I give feedback because it is balanced, helpful, specific and welcomed.

Male Behavior

People tend be either left or right brain or the way I see it either emotional or factual. Guys in my opinion are mostly right brain factual. We weigh and analyze and somewhere after youth learn to suppress or hide when we are left brain/emotional.  It’s a loss somehow. That macho personality can prevent real friendships from becoming deeper. Is this true?

We had company a few weeks ago, and one of the company kept saying I was acting like a man or along those lines. I should have asked what she meant.

I don’t mind doing dishes, ok I do but I realize it is fair that I do them and it’s not really so bad. I even enjoy cooking but don’t like to do it alone. So what is macho behavior? I don’t recall grunting or firing off any weapons, so what gives?

Blog #1 – why?

This is my second blog. I don’t know why or how long I will blog. I have decided to do it again. Perhaps no one will read my blog, perhaps that is not a bad thing.

Today I read about John Wooden. He was a captivating speaker and this excerpt from one of his speeches struck me.

” You cannot be truly successful without peace of mind, that only comes from knowing you made the effort to become the best that you are capable of becoming. You and only you will know whether you have done that. You can fool others. But you cannot fool yourself.

We must not become too concerned about the things over which we have no control, but we must make every effort to utilize to the best of our ability the things over which we have control.

Everyone is different. There will always be others who are bigger or stronger, or quicker, or better jumpers, or better in some other areas, but there are other qualities in which you can be second to none.

Among these are: your dedication to the development of your own potential. ”
