Way back in high school I was told by a girl I knew what kind of person I am. She was right about me. She used the “H” word, and I didn’t mind too much. It’s not a bad thing, and looking back to those high school years, and the girl whose name I don’t remember, I admit it, she’s right. I’m a hugger. It’s time it was out in the open.
When I see my family, my daughter, my son, my wife, my son in law and all the others in my life that really hold me up and revolve in my mind; I enjoy giving them a hug.
I think there was a time that I thought it wasn’t “macho” but forget that – I enjoy giving my team the hugs that warm my heart, and my life is better for it. I live for those moments.
I know there has to be a study that shows the correlation between love and health. It must reduce stress and it goes hand in hand with laughing and smiling.
Join me, don’t be shy. If you are a hugger also, stand tall and be counted. Way back in 76, they were right.

Thanks for visiting today for my short confession.
Oh David, I love this piece! I too, am a hugger & wrote about it awhile back. Not sure if you read this post but from one hugger to another, I feel ya brother! Consider me counted!

Great post. Like you, I was a hugger in the 70’s. I still am today. I have learned that the little things are the most important of all; they are the foundation for the big things. Every little act of giving means the world to that person.
