Welcome to “Life and Random Thinking”
– the owner of which is having trouble remembering the day of the week it is! Mea Culpa ♥
Instead of Wordless Wednesday, I found an alternate – Tight-lipped Thursday.
Thanks for dropping by – David ♥
Thanks to the encouragement of my family I tackled Giant’s Head Mountain in Summerland twice recently, these pics are from the first climb. Captions for you!
Giant’s Head is named for it’s profile of a face when viewed from the southeast. The peak is the remnant of a shattered volcano and is about 500 metres above Okanagan lake.

looking north from the top
#1 son kept me going to the top!
On the east ridge looking north. This was a nice path but it gets as narrow as my feet side by side. Yikes! is right.
I checked and walking the road to the top is 2.85 km at Giant’s Head Mountain in Summerland. The road is my choice right now, the grind and the friendly giant trails I will try, if I can, when I get more fit!
looking northwest, the west side is all cliff,
for the photographers who like texture!
The top at last !
Ta da! played in my ears. There is time capsule by the rock that will be opened in 2067 – Bicentennial year in Canada
the east ridge has a wonderful view, the path is sometimes really narrow along the edge
I liked the moss on the trees!
“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

I appreciate your comment, and I think you are right. I suppose each of us is experiencing the world differently, from our individual point of view. It will be unique to us. I think that is one of the aspects of blogging I enjoy. Since it is international I get a peek into the worlds of people from all over, Canada, USA, Great Britain, India, Brazil, Australia and so on. It’s a privilege I appreciate and I think I am learning! ♥

I am – very much – all about the textures in photos, so love love love the bark. The others are lovely too, but that’s my favourite. Congrats on the hike – great work!

So awesome that you see what I did. Thank you! The hike is hard and I get hot and have to focus but it is a wonderful feeling when I am at the top and have accomplished the hard half!
