A “Blissful” day

Thanks for visiting today to my blog. Just a quick note to share my day, – David

Today I had the occasion to once again travel up the valley, driving and enjoying the view of the Okanagan lake as it stretches over a hundred miles from the northern tip of Penticton.

On the way out of town this morning I had the good fortune to see a small flock of six white trumpeter swans flying in formation. It seemed they sensed I wanted to be sure my sight was not tricking me and they flew overtop me on the road out of town. I wasn’t driving so I had an excellent gander, all beautiful white specimens – six of them.

Later after my appointment we stopped in Peachland, as we drove south this time along the lake. It was time to enjoy some Bliss. Bliss bakery that is. This is a lakeside favorite of locals in Peachland.

We sat there by the lake, and had a coffee. A few people came and chatted for with us for awhile. We shared a coffee recommendation spot in Penticton and they shared with us a spot to try tomorrow in Kelowna (stay tuned).

Staying strong today, we resisted the muffins, croissants and soup at Bliss and enjoyed the journey home from there.

It was a wonderful day, I chatted with some kind people, I enjoyed the drive and spotted and appreciated my ordinary but amazing world around me.

Blessings to you for visiting. ♥ – David

Six trumpeter swans. What an absolute delight. We have lots of wonderful gifts of nature in New Brunswick, but not swans. Thanks for sharing, David.

We had a yearly migration of Sand Hill cranes in New Mexico, Monarch butterflies in Michoacan, Mexico, and now in geese in Oklahoma who don’t seem to want to go any further. I would love to see trumpeter swans. Thanks for sharing your swans and your day; I’m sure the treats at Bliss were hard to pass up.

We are both nature lovers. My wife loves butterflies so much. I saw a couple more trumpeter swans today and their heads were down, cold south wind and they were buttoned down. ♥ When it comes to Bliss Bakery – I can resist anything except temptation. ♥
