Today a Guest Post – A Piece of Paper won’t stop a thief

Hello friend, just a short intro and a link today to a blogging friend’s important post called ” Give up Crimea? How about Florida? Alaska?

I read this post today and it was a compelling read about how Russia’s attack on Crimea and it was a broken agreement that limited the Ukraine’s ability to defend itself.

An agreement that the USA promised to support.

It also illustrates the actions of the USA (under the Trump Administration) right now to also break agreements and ignore law.

It must pain so many Americans and people around the world who have seen America in the past as a country that was a nation of laws and fair beliefs.

It’s a spring day, and best wishes to all. ♥ Dave

Thank you so much for SHARING this, Dave. I also follow Jane & I’ve just SHARED this on my Facebook page.. It should be REQUIRED READING … universally.

Just FYI, here is my response to Jane:

This is one of the most powerful blog entries I”ve ever read. It made me cry because of the power of the words of one in Ukraine who is LIVING his nightmare. And once again, because I & so many of us in the US are so deeply embarrassed by the actions of an unrestrained president who has no acquaintance with empathy, truth or kindness.

Your point about how would the US feel if asked to give up Florida or Alaska or some part of our homeland at the request of someone who doesn’t care about people & their lives but is driven by his own greed & lust for power. I cannot imagine what the good people of Ukraine are going through.

6 months ago I could never have imagined what the US would be going through … seeing our democracy destroyed, good programs that made lives better for our people & others in need around the world thrown out like yesterday’s garbage, seeing our wonderful country reduced to jokes & embarrassment. And yet … with all the trauma being inflicted on the citizens of the US daily, which will, no doubt, get worse, my heart weeps for Ukraine. As bad as it is, we aren’t living their nightmare …………… yet
