Music effects your mood

Music effects my mood!  I remember how when I did step aerobics, how important the music was to wring extra performance out of the class, including the token male (yours truly).

I can never really connect with runners though who wear headphones and run. I suppose they have more skill in picking appropriate music. I definitely suck at picking a running beat for songs. I remember I tried once but it was a complete failure, the songs I liked were all too slow and the beat just didn’t help. I remember laughing out loud when Kokomo came up and realized it was waaay slow for running music.

Not to say I don’t have music when I run, I just sing whatever comes to mind, L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole has been a favorite for years, and it has a nice running beat, and song I don’t ruin (too much).

Busy lately with life, speeches, arrangements, and evening trying to get some exercise in while reading multiple books, reference books mostly.  I know that my yard chores are suffering and all the dishes I have washed made little progress to that fantasy washboard abs my wife dreams I should have.

Still I realize how happy I am to be alive, especially today. A co-worker I knew reasonably well passed away recently in a freak accident. He only retired about 5 years ago, and I felt so gypped that he was taken so soon.  He would tell me be happy and not to bet on a long retirement like he did.

Enjoy life when you can, balancing all the daily responsibilities with outspoken feeling to those lives you share the most.  Tomorrow is promised, but we have to enjoy today also. Walk in the rain, sing a song to yourself, laugh often with your insides smiling – today I am counting my blessings.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.
