Spring is around the corner, and optimism courses through our bloodstreams as we look ahead to the warm sand, and slipping into the lake to cool off in July.
I lay in bed the other morning, my mind racing. It was drafting emails I would not sent, letters to the newspaper editor that I wanted to send but denied myself the satisfaction.
Out of absolute mind-numbing fear my buzzing thoughts would wake my slumbering bride, who would have throttled me in a nano-second and claimed she was only dreaming she was throttling me. I crept as silently as a ninja (in my mind) but realistically I was probably more like Godzilla on ice as I careened around the room in the dark dressing and thumping the floor. Fortunately neither my thumps or screams of pain ever wake my princess as her ears are attuned only to the sound of the coffee-maker beeping her serum is ready, then I jolt her electrodes and she arises to face the day. [ the average morning approximately 🙂 ]
